As a keen photographer and Dad to a young rugby player and cricketer, I had always taken photos of my son, Shaun, in action. In addition, national sports photographers attended a number of events each season, allowing me to purchase high quality printed souvenirs. Over the past couple of years, I had noticed how rarely the national photographers were attending festivals and tournaments in our area.
This, coupled with increasing requests from other parents for photos of their children on the pitch, led me to realise that I could combine my sporting and photographic passions to create a new service. So, ActivePix was born!
The ActivePix mission is to 'Capture proud moments forever'. For parents whose busy lives prevent them watching their childrens' big matches and performances, or for those who would rather focus on the game than a camera viewfinder, ActivePix provides a valuable service. We aren't limited to youngsters, however - and are available to photograph important occasions for participants of all ages!
My family are all avid sports fans and participants. We are season ticket holders at Peterborough United (the 'Posh') and get to as many Wasps rugby matches as other sporting commitments allow.
Until my knees started to disintegrate a few years ago, I enjoyed many years as a road-runner and clocked up over 60 marathons (PB of 2:51) and ultra-marathons, including 4 Comrades Marathons (90km) and a London to Brighton (55 miles). I still do some light running and keep fit at The Warwickshire health club.
Having spent many years in South Africa, I love to relax with my family by lighting a 'braai' (BBQ). I enjoy music, with 70'-80's rock, country and progressive rock my favourite genres.
I look forward to seeing you at a local sports event soon!
